HPTLC Asia 2018
International Symposium for High-Performance Thin-Layer Chromatography, November 28-30, 2018 Bangkok, Thailand
Welcome to the 1st Asia International Symposium for High-Performance Thin-Layer Chromatography!
On behalf of the organizing committee, it is my pleasure to invite you to the 2018 First Asia International Symposium for High-Performance Thin-Layer Chromatography (HPTLC Asia 2018) which will take place in November 28-30, 2018, Bangkok, Thailand.
HPTLC Asia 2018 represents a part of the traditional International HPTLC Symposium series that was first organized in 1980. The series has been held every three years since 2003 when Pierre Bernard-Savary organized the HPTLC 2003 in Lyon, followed by the ones in Berlin, Helsinki, Basel, Lyon and Berlin, respectively. The last one in Berlin was the 23rd HPTLC Symposium held in July 4-8, 2017. In that very successful event, however, our International Scientific Committee members expressed their concern about the small number of Asian participants registered in the meeting, despite a rapidly growing utilization of HPTLC-based techniques in the region. The problems of long-distance travel and cost of participation were of course seen as an obstacle. Therefore, the HPTLC Asia symposium series was proposed in between the traditional European series, and the magnificent city of Bangkok was chosen as the first location of the ASIA series.
In this HPTLC Asia 2018, advances and applications in all areas of HPTLC techniques will be presented and discussed in a three-day information, and will feature invited speakers, selected submitted lectures and poster presentations. Short courses will take place before the symposium (November 27, 2018), which will focus on “Botanicals and Traditional Medicines,” the area that HPTLC has been popularly applied for doing their quality control in Asia, and other domains where HPTLC shows interesting features.
The Symposium will be held at Chulalongkorn University located at the heart of Bangkok. It is easily accessible from Bangkok’s Suvannabhumi International Airport via city Airport-Rail Link, and participants can find time to visit the attractions around the city. The best time of the year (from November to February) with comfortable weather, invites you to discover Bangkok and taste the world’s famous authentic Thai food.
We are looking forward to meeting you at HPTLC-ASIA 2018 for a fruitful and enjoyable time in Bangkok.
